Smart lighting

Smart lights have many advantages:

• Lights switch by voice or app, or on a schedule.
• Brightness is selectable from 1 to 100%, giving practical light levels and energy savings when dimmed.
• Colour temperature adjusts from very warm 2700k to 6500k cool white. Human-centric settings shift it through the day, helping sleep patterns and health.
• Full-colour options offer blue light for home theatres and colour changing with music for functions or teenagers.

Smart switches

• App-controlled lights fail if the wall switch is turned off. Smart switches work with normal and smart lighting, with schedules and control from anywhere in the world.
• Smart switches save construction costs because complicated communication wiring no longer needs planning during a build. They link in many combinations as 2-way, 3-way or more.
• They can be added with no load wires as 2-way or 3-way switches, and connect to remote smart receivers, strip lighting, garden lights, or smart plugs feeding table lamps and even the Christmas tree.
• Multiple timers and schedules make any connected item smart.
• Motion sensors, IP cameras, contact sensors, temperature sensors and more can link to a smart switch, so a visitor at your smart doorbell camera turns on porch, garden and even an inside table light.
• When you leave, all switches can turn off automatically, leaving one or two lights on if required; on arrival, specific lights switch on at the required level (if smart).

Smart WiFi sockets

• Two smart WIFI sockets fit side by side on a double GPO, and smart modules can be built into a GPO during construction.
• Smart plugs switch by app or linked smart switch, with multiple timers and schedules, or by IP cameras, PIR sensors, contact sensors, smoke alarms and more.
• With 2.5 Amps and optional relay switches, hot water systems, aircon, heat pumps, pool pumps, bore pumps and many other devices can be controlled.

Remote or in-ceiling smart modules

• Any standard lighting system with single wired switches can be converted to smart.
• Most older homes have single wired switches with no neutral, so stable smart switches (which need a neutral feed) cannot be used; the module goes in the ceiling or at the device, where neutrals exist.
• Modules give remote switching, dimming and scheduling, and wireless kinetic switches can be linked to them wherever needed.

Smart kinetic switch

• Smart kinetic switches require no connected wires or even batteries; pressing the switch generates the signal.
• They connect directly to modules or smart modules near the light or device controlled.
• Available in 1, 2 and 3 gangs, they are attractive, strong, neat and completely waterproof to IP67.
• Compatible modules: 1000W receiver, dual 1200W receiver (600W x 2), dimmer 100W receiver, smart 600W receiver and smart dimmer 100W receiver. Depending on the receiver they switch, dim or give smart control.
• With no wiring, huge construction savings are possible and switches go wherever required.
• 2-way and 3-way switching works well; multiple switches can link to one receiver, perfect for bedside tables and island benches.
• Suitable for outdoor areas, wheelchairs and special requirements.

Zigbee smart devices

Zigbee uses the lowest power of WiFi, Bluetooth and Zigbee, so devices run up to 2 years on a small button battery, making installation easy and flexible.

A Zigbee Gateway must be installed first as the bridge between your WiFi and Zigbee devices. Connect it to the router with a data cable, add it in the app on the 2.4GHz network, select the Gateway, press Add device, put each device in pairing mode as indicated, and add it.

• Contact sensors: very small, for doors, windows or any opening, as security or to activate lights and other smart products.
• PIR sensors: placed inconspicuously in rooms, hallways and areas needing automated lighting; two or more can switch the same lights for reliability.
• Temperature sensors: send warnings and switch on fans or other devices. In a fridge, a warning is sent if the temperature exceeds 6º; in rooms they set air conditioning levels; in a fish tank they monitor water remotely.
• Smoke alarms: emit loud warnings, message your phone and can turn off devices. They do not replace the standard home smoke alarm but suit ancillary areas such as garages and sheds.
• Water sensors: any over-level or spillage activates alarms and messages.

WiFi cameras, garage door, sensor and water products

WiFi cameras and doorbells need only USB power, or mini solar panels and batteries outdoors. They record visitors to the app message centre, notify your phone and can trigger lights or an alarm, with 2-way voice; some have human detection and adjustable sensor areas so only required alerts arrive. Doorbell cameras have linked indoor chimes that also ring on your mobile, and can turn on front wall, porch or garden lights on motion.

WiFi garage door opener: this WiFi Garage Door Controller notifies you if the door is left open by mistake or has hit an obstruction and reopened. The door can be opened and closed remotely, and it combines with a WiFi camera for peace of mind.

WiFi sensor and sensor light: a WiFi sensor adjusts settings on a smart device, and combined with lights also controls brightness and colour temperature. It gives up to 19 metres range and 90º coverage and connects to other smart devices with no extra wiring (only live and neutral feeds required). Paired with a smart switch or plug it adds switching, scheduling and notifications.

WiFi water switches set correct watering days and times, with a soil and temperature sensor adjusting the schedule for ideal watering without waste.
